Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth: (Genesis 1:1)
And (I believe in) in Jesus (Matthew 1:18-23) Christ His only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:20),
Born of the Virgin (Leviticus 21:13) Mary (Exodus 15:23, bitterness),
Suffered (Hebrews 5:8, He obeyed so that He suffered) under Pontius Pilate (Ephesians 2:2),
Was crucified, dead, and buried:
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
(I believe in) The holy universal Church;
(I believe in) The Communion of Saints;
(I believe in) The Forgiveness of sins;
(I believe in) The Resurrection of the body,
And (I believe in) the Life everlasting.
